Halloween is such a great holiday. Mandatory costumes! I love when people get into the spirit of things. I think it’s SO weird to see someone at a Halloween party not in a costume. I mean, it’s a costume party, so whatthefuck are you doing there?

It’s interesting to see my friend’s alter-egos or last minute put together costumes. Sometimes these are the most creative. Here are some pics from last year.

Archives of Fashion – Miss B.C. Natalie Standke in Rice Society for Miss World Canada 2007

Just after I finished my course at Blanche MacDonald, I had the pleasure of teaming up with Natalie Standke, aka Miss B.C. 2006, to design an original dress for her to compete in the Evening Gown category of Miss World Canada 2007.

This is her when she won the Miss B.C. title:

Here are some informal pictures of beautiful Natalie in the dress I custom made for her. The silver part of the dress was in satin, and the blue part was reclaimed from a Chi-Pao, Chinese silk:

The competition took place after I returned back to Taiwan, so these are the pictures she sent me. I also went on the Miss World website and found these taken during the competition:

Isn’t it kinda strange that they are having this competition in a hall? It looks nothing like I thought Miss World would look like. They describe the Dominion Hall as glamourous, ya…riiiiiiight.  mmm….I imagined something like the Miss America Pageant. This was the Official Preliminary to choose the girl who would represent Canada in the huge Miss World Pageant. Although she didn’t get nominated in this category, she got an honorable mention in Beauty With a Purpose.
